Maria Krause has been participating in Election Observation Missions since 2005, as Short-Term Observer and Long-Term Observer and later as Coordinator of Long-Term Observers. Since then she has observed elections on various occasions with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova, Latvia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Albania and Montenegro, with the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations in Georgia and with The Carter Center in Nepal, Mozambique and Guyana. In recent years, she has been working as Election Expert for the domestic non-partisan election observation project FiecareVot in her home country. Maria holds a degree in Language and Literature and has previous work experience as a translator/interpreter and English teacher. Her areas of interest are elections, human rights, democratization and good governance.
